Mānuka Honey UMF™ 5+

Kāmahi Honey

Pale and buttery golden with a bold, complex flavour, Mountain Gold Kāmahi Honey is intensely aromatic. Ideal for cooking, baking, or pairing with fine cheeses, it reflects the nectar of the abundant Kāmahi tree (Weinmannia racemosa) and the pristine forests of New Zealand.

Rewarewa Honey

Deep reddish-amber in colour, Rewarewa Honey has a strong, malty body and caramel-like flavour. Less sweet, it is perfect for savory dishes, roasting, and cheese pairings. Sourced from the crimson flowers of the Rewarewa tree (Knightia excelsa), it is a true taste of the North Island and Marlborough Sounds.

Tawari Honey

Light in colour with a smooth, naturally creamy texture, Mountain Gold Tawari Honey offers subtle butterscotch notes. Sourced from the nectar-rich Tawari tree (Ixerba brexioides) of the northern North Island, this honey won the People’s Choice Award at the 2023 New Zealand National Apiculture Conference.

Pōhutukawa Honey

Pale gold in colour with delicate floral sweetness and subtle salty notes, Pōhutukawa Honey is harvested from the iconic crimson December blossoms of the Pōhutukawa tree (Metrosideros excelsa). Perfect for drizzling over desserts, cheeses, or breakfast treats.

Southern Rātā Honey

One of New Zealand’s rarest honeys, Southern Rātā Honey is very light in colour with a silky-smooth, buttery texture and soft fruity aroma. Exceptionally delicate, it is perfect for gourmet desserts, teas, or indulgent tasting.

Kānuka Honey

Light in colour with smooth texture and aromatic butterscotch notes, Mountain Gold Kānuka Honey is naturally mild yet full of character. It is high in 3-Phenyllactic Acid (3-PLA), with a minimum of 1000 mg/kg, ensuring consistent premium quality. Ideal for drizzling, baking, or pairing with delicate cheeses and teas.

Beech Honeydew

Experience the rich, malty depth of Mountain Gold Beech Honeydew, a unique honey produced from the secretions of scale insects on native beech trees. Dark red-brown in colour and naturally smooth, it rarely crystallises due to its low glucose and fructose content and high levels of complex oligosaccharides such as maltose, erlose, and melezitose. These sugars act as a natural prebiotic, supporting beneficial gut bacteria.

Collected from the pristine beech forests of New Zealand’s South Island, Beech Honeydew comes from two native beech species — Black Beech (Nothofagus solandri) and Red Beech (Nothofagus fusca) — and their associated scale insects, producing a honey with a rich, malty flavour ideal for drizzling, roasting, barbecues, or table use.
